"Gelooft wonderen? JA!"

That's what a Dutch Al Michaels would have said after yesterday's (3/7) shocking 4-3 upset of the Netherlands baseball team over the heavily favored Donminican Republic squad in the first round of the World Baseball Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Of course, the quote is a literal translation of the line "Do you believe in miracles? YES!" that Michaels used after the Mircale on Ice game between the USA and the Soviet Union in 1980.
UPDATE: Had Yogi Berra spoken Dutch, he would have said "Deja vu helemaal opnicuw". The Dutch came back to eliminate the heavily favored Dominicans in an elimination game, 2-1 in 11 innings tonight (3/10). It's deja vu all over again.

  1. Seeing as you have a comcast.net email account, I figured you'd be interested in this. I did not realize that the Olbermann-Coulter Cornell feud was a big deal, but apparently Comcast.net has the feud as a "top new clip". Of course, the video they pulled was a segment on the Fox News late night show, Red Eye, which proceeds to bash Olbermann while defending Coulter, but I did not think that this was that big of a deal. And it's over such a trivial point as well.

  2. I saw it, and I will wager that Mr. Olbermann will put Greg Whatevertheheckhisnameis on his Worst Persons list this week. Old MacDonald Cornell my diploma!
